Earth Week - How I celebrated Earth Day this weekend

JP and I went to an EarthDay event yesterday which included Forest Bathing, Sit Spot Journaling, and Watershed info/exploration.

In today's blog, I'd like to just share some photos and video I took, kind of a play on Wordless Wednesday, how about "Sayless" Sunday? Later this week, I'm going to write more about the watershed piece.

Did you spend any time this weekend celebrating Mother Earth? Tell me in the comments below.

Will you celebrate tomorrow, on Earth Day? One of the ways I'll be celebrating Mother Earth is by launching Season 5 of Did you Bring the Hummus Podcast! My first guest, who is absolutely perfect for an Earth Day episode is Dr. Sailesh Rao of Climate Healers. Episodes post every Monday at 6:00am ET on your favorite podcast app and right here on my website. The latest episode is always on top.

Paulin is all about accessibility, Heath said. "It's about creating link something that's link got character. There are definitely some exceptions, but I think a lot of what you get link at the lower end of the market feels sterile and mass-produced."

That is a relaxing sound listening to this forest creek! What a moving picture of you hugging this tree. What made you choose this one?

We mainly stayed indoors yesterday. We had more snow/sleet, it was cold and windy. Our friends, who invited us over for coffee and tea, did the most perfect thing: They lit a fire in the wooden fireplace! Christmas in April! Today, Monday, is the official Earth Day, right? I have a lot of cardboard, PET bottles, cans and glass that I am going to take to our local recycling place.

I'm not really sure what made me hug this specific tree, since we were surrounded by many trees, was just a feeling I suppose. Like the tree chose me, maybe? Now that's a way to spend a snowy day in April, your friends had the right idea! Way to turn it from a nuisance to something cozy and enjoyable. Awesome way to spend Earth Day!

LOVE the sound of water!! I actually didn't celebrate Earth Day. Last time I did was for a homeschooling unit years ago. - Jeanine

Kimberly, thanks for the great stream- and streamside images! When I was a child, my mother took us on a few country walks to areas that looked just like that. Great memories. I'm glad you enjoyed hugging that tree; I have never enjoyed hugging trees b/c they are so hard. But I have trees in my backyard that I have nurtured from babyhood, and we are very close. The white flowering tree is twice my height now and the pine is almost 3 floors high. <3

I was surprised at just how comforting hugging the tree was, the hardness of it registered but felt nice. I love that you've been nurturing trees in your backyard. Trees are so important to life on this planet, it's nice to hear how loved yours are. 💚
