A Perfect Summer Afternoon

Cafe Cubano vegan ice cream at Windy Brow Farms

Last Saturday, my husband JP and I took a drive in my convertible. Enjoying the sun on our faces and wind in our hair, we decided to go get some vegan ice cream. We laughed, enjoyed some of our favorite songs, and took in our surroundings, pointing out homes we found interesting or views that were spectacular.

As we drove along the winding back roads, I took in the beauty around me. I thought about how absolutely grateful I am to be in such a lovely place, to smell the fresh air, to live in a place that does not seem vegan friendly at all and still be able to get really good scoops of vegan ice cream.

I wish I had taken more photos, there is a sign on the front door that says "Hate has no home here" and you can't see it in the photo above but hanging in one of the doors there is a huge Pride Flag.

They have multiple vegan ice cream flavors (see the photo below, flavors do rotate - they have pumpkin once in season!) and some vegan items in their bakery case. I tried the vegan mozzarella and basil scone, it was delicious.

The combination of beautiful weather, wind in my hair, laughter, and tasty snacks made for a perfect summer afternoon. If you ever find yourself near Newton, NJ, check out Windy Brow Farms and get yourself an amazing cup of creamy and delicious vegan ice cream.
