It's that time again!

The Ultimate Blog Challenge is on and I'm back! Also, I realize this photo isn't exactly representative of blogging but, it's the 2nd of only 2 left-handed photos that pop up when searching "writing" in my website and I like to rep for my fellow lefties! The world isn't made for us, but we're thriving anyway!

The great thing about the Ultimate Blog Challenge (UBC from here out) is that it comes around 4 times a year. So, when you make it only 10 days in January, and sign up in April and don't write a single thing, you still have two more chances. So, here I am, July 1st, ready to blog for 31 days.


What will I blog about this month?

You know, I'm so glad you asked me that. I am going to write about a few different things.


  • My new walking adventure: I have been consistently walking 6 days/ week since June 2nd. It's incredible how much things have changed after just a month of doing this. I plan to share with you what I've experienced in the month of walking and then real time updates throughout this month. I'll also share some photos of friends I've made on my walks. I had been incredibly sedentary and really not taking very good care of myself so the changes I am experiencing are Incredible.

  • Food and other ways I'm caring for myself: There are likely to be a couple of blogs with photos of what I'm eating and talking about the things that come with being an emotional eater.

  • Did You Bring the Hummus Podcast: Of course! Season 6 is well underway and exciting new episodes are posted each Monday. I might write about the episode itself or some way the episode inspired me.

  • That Vegan Morning Show: If you only follow my blogs you won't know about this project yet! I have teamed up with Jennifer Shlomovich of the The Confident Vegan to bring you a morning show that caters to vegans! Each Monday we go live and talk about vegan news, concepts, issues, celebrities, and more! Twice a month we bring on guests to dig deeper into ideas and their expertise. Start your day the vegan way with That Vegan Morning Show!



I am excited to embark on another month of blogging with the UBC and chatting in the comments with new and old friends alike. If a blog resonates with you and you think someone else would benefit from reading it too, please share it with them. Same goes for any podcast or morning show episode I share.


A big hello to my fellow returning UBCers and warm welcome to those joining for the first time. I have brought some friends along to this UBC month, I am extra excited to see what they come up with.

Way to go on the walking routine. I get into a good habit and then something happens and it falls away. I want to get back at it.

Thank you, Barbara! I totally understand what you're saying, I've done walks for a period of time before and then fell off from the habit. That's life, right? Walking first thing in the morning is one key piece for me, I know if I waited until later in the day I would have a zillion and 6 excuses. How can you prioritize what you want to make a habit?
