Last year I led a small book club via Zoom to discus the book Hungry Beautiful Animals with the author! We were lucky enough that Matt Halteman made the time to hear out thoughts, answer our questions, and help us dig deep into the various concepts presented in his book. Listen to Matt on Did You Bring the Hummus here.
I enjoyed leading that book club so much that I sought out another author who would like to do this with me. Next week I kick off a second installment of The Vegan Book Club with friend, colleague, and author of The Vegan Transformation, Angela Crawford, PhD.
About the book: "Wherever you are on your own journey – whether you are curious about the benefits of eating more plants, or are already vegan and want to experience greater impact and peace – this book will provide guidance for your path. From research findings that illuminate the path to wellbeing, to inspiring stories of transformation, to exercises and meditations that support your journey, Angela hopes to offer encouragement for your own compassionate, healthy, and purposeful life."

We will meet monthly, in the evening, January through April, breaking the book into manageable sections for even our busiest reader in the group. If you are interested in joining the book club, please fill out the contact form on my website. If not, I hope you'll still pick up a copy, I think vegans who read this will feel seen and non-vegans who read it will much better understand the vegans in their lives (and who knows, may even make some changes themselves.)
Have you ever been part of a book club? What did you enjoy about it? What would you have changed?

While I'm not Vegan I do enjoy reading your recipes and leaning more about the healthy ingredients you use. I think the last time I was in a book club was back when I was in junior high school and that was over 60 years ago!
